    How to use it

    1. Choose your PDF.
    2. Pick a compression level, or enter a target size such as 200 KB.
    3. Press Shrink file size and download the smaller PDF.

How much smaller will my PDF get?

Scanned documents and PDFs full of photos usually shrink by 50–90%, because most of their size is images. PDFs that are mostly typed text are already small and may only shrink a little. If a file is already well compressed, you get it back unchanged rather than worse.

Which compression level should I pick?

“Balanced” keeps text sharp and photos clear and is right for most uploads. “Strong” and “Maximum” lower image resolution further — good for scanned certificates that must fit under 100–300 KB. If you need an exact limit, type it into “Target size” and stronger settings are tried until the file fits.

    Does compressing change my text?

No. Text, links and page layout stay the same; only the images inside the PDF are re-saved at a lower resolution. Greyscale is optional and makes colour scans much smaller.
